How to mark the scope
- Included
- Explicitly included in writing.
- Excluded
- Explicitly excluded in writing.
- Not stated
- Missing or uncertain. Ask before assuming.
- Not applicable
- Confirmed as unnecessary for this project.
Different answers can explain different prices. A complete set of marks does not establish workmanship, licensing, diagnosis or suitability. Confirm the scope and the actual property conditions with the provider.
Five questions for these proposals
- Preparation. How will the slab be assessed and prepared?
Ask what assessment of moisture and existing damage is included, and how findings affect the scope.
- Removal and repairs. Are old-coating removal, cracks and other repairs included?
Record allowances and the approval process for hidden conditions discovered during preparation.
- Products and layers. What named products make up the base, finish and topcoat?
Epoxy, polyurea or polyaspartic alone does not describe a complete installed system.
- Return to use. What are the written instructions for foot traffic and vehicles?
Ask how actual site conditions affect timing; do not assume a universal one-day cure.
- Warranty. What does the actual warranty cover and exclude?
Keep the product record, care instructions and accepted scope with the completed-work record.
Check the Fort Wayne project and installer
Ask the Allen County Building Department about the proposed scope when you need permit or contractor-credential information. This guide does not determine which approval applies to a particular coating project.
- Allen County contractor licensing
Use the county's licensing information and contact route to check the business and the credential applicable to your work. Match the business name with the written proposal.
- Allen County Building Department
Describe whether the project is coating only or includes additional building work. Ask the department which approvals, if any, apply to that scope.

Before choosing a garage-floor coating proposal in Fort Wayne, compare slab preparation, removal and repairs, named coating products, return-to-use instructions and written warranty terms. This free worksheet puts two or three written scopes side by side and lists questions to resolve. It works without a sign-in or proposal uploads and does not select an installer.
